Love Island’s Sherif Lanre posts pic from lockdown – but instantly regrets it

Sherif Lanre, 20, has uploaded his first picture to Instagram following his shock exit from Love Island – but instantly regretted it and moments later deleted it.

ITV have stayed tight-lipped surrounding the reasons behind the semi-pro rugby player’s axing.

Posting the picture to the social media site earlier today, he wrote: “Just waiting.”

He added the hastags “lockdown” and “it is what it is”.

Sherif shed more light on the incident, dishing his own thoughts on his premature exit.

He said: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules,” he lamented. “And as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.”

Love Island bosses implent strict villa rules, which include no violence, racism, masturbation, appearing nude and no sexual misdemeanors.

Contestants are not alowed to bring their phones into the villa, and can only light up in designated smoking areas one at a time.
