Michelle Visage hits back about relationship with Strictly Come Dancing partner
Michelle Visage has hit back at claims she’s ‘unhappy’ with her Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice.
Apparently tensions had begun to rise between the two after Visage surprisingly found herself in the bottom two of last week’s show.
The 51-year-old won the dance-off between sports broadcaster Mike Bushell, who was finally sent home packing after the judges unanimously voted to save Visage.
But now the RuPaul’s Drag Race judge has now taken to social media to rubbish any rumours of a rift between the two.
‘The articles about my partner and I have been upsetting,’ she posted in statement. ‘If any of you know us, you know how close Giovanni and I are.
‘Gio is my best friend in this competition, he is my rock and I trust him with everything,’ Visage continued.
‘We have the most fun and laughs together and to suggest anything else is just sad. At this very moment, we are focusing on Blackpool and we are SO excited to share our magical dance with all of you!’
Her partner also replied to the statement, and further quashed rumours of a feud.
‘Darling, you have been quite popular in the papers this week,’ the Italian dancer wrote. ‘They don’t know what to say anymore!’
And it looks like we are indeed in for a treat this weekend, as the contestant will be channeling the ultimate gay icon, Madonna, as she dances to Vogue.
After her victory over Mike Bushell in last weekend’s dance-off, the BBC anchor has admitted he is ‘relieved’ to leave the series after he triumphed over previous contestants including Viscountess Emma Weymouth and Catherine Tyldesley.
Last weekend also saw the return of Strictly pro Neil Jones to the dancefloor, after a shock injury left him unable to dance with footballer Alex Scott for two weeks, seeing him replaced with Kevin Clifton.
His first night back, however, was full of drama – especially as judge Motsi Mabuse (accidentally) referenced an affair…right in front of him. ]
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7.05pm on BBC One.
