NCIS Hawaii has already broken ground, even before it’s started airing on CBS, with actress Vanessa Lachey cast as the first female lead the franchise has ever had. It is also the first spin-off to be set outside of mainland America and excitement is building over what drama will happen to catapult the show to the top of viewer ratings. There are just hours to go until fans can tune in to watch the first episode.
What time does NCIS Hawaii start on CBS?
The crime scene investigation drama is the first spin-off to hit the small screen in seven years, which was when NCIS Los Angeles began.
Viewers will be transported to the sunny climbs of Hawaii, but not everything will be as it seems as the Peal Harbour-based team try to crack the cases of several crimes.
To make the premiere one to remember, programme schedulers have managed to coincide the event with the release of NCIS season 19.
This is the first time the main show is airing on a Monday night, having previously been shown on Tuesdays.
However, it is hoped this will allow fans of the franchise to enjoy a whole night of drama each week, rather than spreading the shows apart.
As the main show has been on air for the longest, it has been given precedence on Monday night and it will be starting at 9pm Eastern Time.
It will air for an hour on Monday September 20, 2021 as viewers get confirmation whether Agent Leroy Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) survived the boat explosion at the end of season 18.
This means NCIS Hawaii will be starting at 10pm Eastern Time and will also air for one hour, allowing fans to be given an introduction to the new host of characters.
Central time, it will air an hour earlier as the premiere will begin at 9pm and this is the time slot it will remain in for the foreseeable future.
Classified state secrets are exposed

With regards to when the show will air beyond America, international fans won’t have to miss out on the drama.
British viewers are no longer able to watch new episodes of any NCIS show on the same day or the day after.
However, those who want to tune in from around the globe can do so online via the streaming platform Paramount Plus.
This is the home for all NCIS content but following a seven-day free trial, subscribers will have to pay a fee of $4.99 to continue watching the new episodes.
There are two ways in which international fans are able to enjoy the new content online without missing out.
They will be able to stream the first episode of NCIS Hawaii at the same time it is broadcast over in America.
The beach-based instalment, alongside the premiere of NCIS season 19 will be made available on the streaming service to catch up on later.
Until viewers can watch the new series, they have the opportunity to watch old episodes of the franchise on Paramount Plus.
