Oprah Winfrey appeared on CBS News on Monday to talk about her bombshell interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Talk show host legend Oprah shared that Meghan sent her a text message as the show, which has sent shockwaves around the world, was broadcast.

Oprah divulged: "I got a text from Meghan yesterday, saying, 'How’s it going?'

"Because she was putting Archie to bed and waiting on the West Coast feed and had no idea what was happening."

Meghan and Oprah have been friends, with Oprah, 67, attending Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding.

Oprah said that she had previously told Meghan she was concerned she wouldn't be able to survive in the Royal Family after Meghan advised she was allegedly told to be "50 per cent less herself."

Elsewhere in Oprah's exclusive CBS chat, she told the news anchors that Harry had told her it wasn't the Queen or Prince Phillip who had told him of the concerns over Archie's skin tone, ahead of him being born.

Oprah shared: "He did not share the identity but made sure that I knew that it was not his grandmother or grandfather were part of them those conversations.

"I tried to get that answer on camera and off."

Meghan made the shocking allegation about a member of the Royal Family making the racist remark, as she reflected on her pregnancy with Archie.

Meghan claimed the Royal Family did not want to make Archie a prince or give him 24-hour security and Oprah asked why this was, to which Meghan replied there were "concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he's born".

A visibly horrified Oprah responded and asked whether Meghan and Harry's son being "too brown" was a problem to the wider Royal Family.

Megan replied: "If that is the assumption you are making, that is a pretty safe one."
