Our Yorkshire Farm details every aspect of farm life for the Owen family as both Clive and Amanda Owen have shared many details of their lives for the Channel 5 series. While some explanation has been given for the farm before the series began, many fans are wondering how Clive originally got the now-iconic home.

How did Clive Owen get Ravenseat Farm?

Our Yorkshire Farm takes time to showcase each and every member of the Owen family, with Amanda Owen stealing the show for most viewers.

With Clive and Amanda’s nine children, there is plenty of material for the Channel 5 programme to explore.

Curiously enough, Clive has remained rather mysterious in the series when compared to Amanda.

Not much is known about his backstory and fans are keen to learn more about the farm owner ahead of the next series of the show.

At 66 years old, Clive is a very successful first-generation farm owner, coming into the business with no family experience himself.

Clive’s parents were not farmers, so Clive had to learn the difficulties of farming life as he went, more than 25 years ago.

The Ravenseat farm was the first he owned, making the purchase around the same time – over 25 years ago.

Located in Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales, Clive’s farm has continued to go from strength to strength, particularly after meeting his future wife.

21 years ago, Amanda visited the Ravenseat farm, having been sent there on a work errand for the farm she worked on at the time.

The two immediately hit it off, initially as a friendship but things soon developed further.

Clive had already been married at that point and it is believed he has two children from the previous relationship.

Amanda shares many details of her life, both as an author and on social media, regularly updating fans on both Instagram and Twitter.

But fans will have noticed Clive never appears, as the celebrity farmer has chosen to keep his personal life private.

Despite being on Ravenseat for more than a quarter of a century, Clive and Amanda are currently repairing a dilapidated farmhouse one mile away from their current home.

Work has been slow, but Amanda has been updating fans on its progress via social media.

Most recently, Amanda shared some snaps of her and the children fruit picking and battling the temperamental British summer weather.

The star posted: “Rain doesn’t stop work or play but it does hamper the outfits. The sun has now returned and the issue has been addressed.”

Fans replied sharing their love for the Ravenseat home: “Amanda, you certainly live in a beautiful part of the country, until of course the snow comes.”

“I love seeing your tweets. I am looking forward to reading your new book and seeing your photos which are great as I am into photography,” another added.

Channel 5 still hasn’t updated fans on when the show might return, but many viewers are hoping to see Amanda and Clive back on TV later this year.

Our Yorkshire Farm is available to watch on Channel 5 and My5.
