Outlander season 5: Claire Fraser star teases ‘brilliant’ new episode in filming bombshell
Outlander season five has almost come to the end of the filming process and fans are overjoyed the time-travelling drama is one step closer to returning to screens. The cast are currently up in Scotland filming the eleventh episode of the new season and Claire Fraser star Caitriona Bafe has teased what’s ahead.
The episode was created by Diana Gabaldon, the author of the original books, who hasn’t written an episode for the show for almost two years.
This could mean the next outing will have less diversions to the original text than previous outings.
Fans were left furious last season after Claire and Jaime Fraser (played by Same Heughan) missed the birth of baby Jemmy.
However, now Claire Fraser star Caitriona Balfe has teased a “brilliant” new season fans won’t want to miss.

The conversation took place on Twitter after a fan tweeted Diana Gabaldon asking what the writer is up to in between writing book nine.
The author responded: “What, you mean… (drumroll)… like Ep 511?”
“Why, yes…I think I did manage to squeeze that in, now you mention it…”
With the news in the open, Caitriona was quick to respond to the news.
The star tweeted: “And it is (no surprise) a brilliant Ep… Can’t wait to start shooting it this week…”
Fans were sent into a frenzy at the news, taking to the comments section to express their excitement for the new episode.
Will the episode stay true to the books?
The author is known for adding last-minute changes from the book in her episodes.

One fan tweeted: “I was just discussing with a friend how Dianas episode even though it differed from the book brought forth all of the character’s nuances in such a brilliant way.
“It was her voice, her humour, we LOVED IT! Now the penultimate episode in Season 5, SO EXCITED!”
Meanwhile, the Claire Fraser star has revealed what she regrets over the new series.
Speaking about season four and the upcoming run, Caitriona explained it’s ”unfortunate” the Native Americans don’t feature as much.

“I think in general, episode 13 because of all of the Native American, I think that was such a cool element to our show,” she told SYFY Wire at New York Comic Con.
“It was so beautiful to tell that time in American history.
“It’s unfortunate we don’t have as many elements of that this time, I think it was just so rich and so beautiful, it just added another element to the show that we didn’t have before. So that’s special for that reason.”
Outlander returns February 16 on STARZ and Amazon Prime Video.
