Outlander became a huge hit and gained tons of fans across the world after it first premiered on Starz in 2014. With a sixth season in production, Jamie Fraser star Sam Hueghan took to Instagram to share throwback photos of himself and co-star Caitriona Balfe.
To mark Outlander’s anniversary actor Sam Hueghan decided to reminisce on the first season of the show with the hilarious snaps.
He shared a series of photos which showed him leaning against a mannequin of a dead body while reading his lines.
Another photo saw fan-favourite Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) snuggling another morbid looking mannequin as she appeared to take a nap.
The last image featured a young-looking Jamie sitting upright and posing for a photo.
In the caption, the actor wrote: “Seven years ago today @outlander_starz premiered!”
He disclosed: “These are the first photos I have on my phone (I actually lost my phone onset in the prison whilst filming the season one finale).
“After seven years, looks like nothings changed, still learning my lines whilst Cait sleeps,” Jamie added.
With the mention of the prison and the mannequins used to represent dead bodies, it’s safe to say that the actor could be talking about the season one episode titled Wentworth Prison.

The gruelling episode saw Claire attempt to rescue Jamie from prison where he was sentenced to death after being captured by the Redcoats.
However, the evil Black Jack (Tobias Menzies) trapped Claire into a room filled with the dead bodies of executed inmates.
Actress Caitriona Balfe also celebrated the seventh anniversary of Outlander by sharing a snap on Twitter.
She shared a throwback selfie of herself in character bruised and bloodied under a tweet that read: “Seven years!!!!! The anniversary of our first airing and what a thrilling ride it’s been since then.
She added: “Thank you to all our fans who’ve stuck with us so faithfully year after year and to @Writer_DG for giving us all this gift and @Outlander_STARZ @SPTV for the continued support.”
The hit series followed World War II nurse Claire Fraser as she time-travelled between the 18th and 20th centuries.
After deciding to stay in the past, she fell in love and helped her family navigate through hardship as they prepared for the revolution.
The nurse also battled with treating the injured without using medication which did not yet exist in an effort not to change history.
This was seen in season five when Claire insisted on creating her own penicillin despite it being 157 years before the medicine was discovered by Alexander Fleming.
Outlander is the onscreen adaptation of the best-selling series of novels written by Diane Gabaldon.
Starz confirmed that the series would be renewed for a seventh instalment which can be expected to air in 2022.
