Piers Morgan slams ‘hypocritical social climber’ Meghan Markle in withering rant

This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby quizzed Piers Morgan on his thoughts on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as he appeared on Wednesday's show.

Piers admitted that he would love to interview Meghan and Harry on Life Stories, but said it would be a "very different interview" to what they have filmed with Oprah.

The controversial host said that he would ask them what really happened in the 18 months which led up to them quitting their royal duties and moving to LA.

Piers also took a swipe at Meghan as he said: "We're going to be getting two hours of whining and 'we're the victims and everything has been awful'.

"I am going to be watching it with a slightly jaundiced look, having been quite friendly with her, and being ditched like a sack of spuds.

"But I would feel the same way if you or Phil did it, I don't know her anywhere near as much as I know you two.

"But I find it quite odd when a person can be quite overtly friendly towards you and then bang, they met someone slightly higher up the social ladder and they ditch you.

"When you see all the stories about her, you can see it is a regular pattern going on and all that did was inform me there was a bit of a different side to her."

Piers also hit out at the pair for asking for privacy, saying it juxtaposed their interviews with James Corden and Oprah.
