Rebekah Vardy quits social media ahead of Dancing On Ice debut
Rebekah Vardy has ditched social media as she prepares to take to the rink in tonight’s Dancing On Ice launch.
The 38-year-old contestant, who is one of six couples making their debut on the ITV competition this evening, will be ignoring her platforms to focus on her performance and to steer clear of trolls critiquing her.
‘My focus on Sunday is my performance and I can’t control what other people say about me,’ Rebekah said.
She continued to The Sun: ‘We’ve worked really hard to get where we are and hopefully that will show and pay off.’
Rebekah is skating with Andy Buchanan in the competition, and the pair were recently struck by a nasty accident during training.
Earlier this week, the couple had been practising a trick when mum-of-five Rebekah sliced Andy’s face open with the blade of her ice skate.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk about the incident, Rebekah initially laughed about the mishap because she thought ‘he was joking’.
‘I actually thought he was messing around, to begin with, because he does like a bit of a joke,’ she confessed.
‘The last thing he said to me was, “Don’t kick me in the face” and I was like “Why would you say that? Why have you just said that you just gonna Jinx us?”
‘So we did what we were doing, and he nearly dropped me and I was like oh s**t what was going on? And I looked at him and he was holding his face and I said stop messing about and I laughed.’
Rebekah added that she nearly passed out when Andy removed his hand from his face to show blood everywhere and felt sick at the thought of returning to the ice the following day.
Dancing On Ice airs tonight at 6pm on ITV.
