Sacred Games season 2 cast: Will Kukoo be in the new series?
Will there be a second series of Sacred Games?
Sacred Games is Netflix’s first Indian Original Series.
The show has been positively received across the world and has left fans demanding more.
The series is based on the 1000 page critically acclaimed novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra.
Although Netflix has not officially confirmed the second season of Sacred Games, it is thought the first season is based only on the first quarter of the book.
Therefore, there is hope that there will be three more seasons to come to complete the tale.
Cast members have also been dropping obvious hints suggesting the show will be renewed.
Saif Ali Khan who plays main character policeman Sartaj Singh said in an interview with DNA “Yes, we should be out with one season every year if that’s the way ahead”. He also hinted that filming could begin as early as September 2018.
Actor Pankaj Tripathi has also revealed that his character Guruji will be the main villain in season two.
WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SEASON OF SACRED GAMES?
Will Kukoo be in the new series?
Fans are wondering if transgender bar dancer and cabaret singer Kukoo will return for the second series as she was killed in season one.
Netflix has not made an official announcement of the returning cast and the actress Kubra Sait who plays Kukoo has not dropped any hints about her return.
In the original novel, Kukoo plays a minor character, however, in the Netflix adaption directors Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap and the team of writers decided to bring the character of Kukoo to life
She has a much bigger role as notorious criminal Ganesh Gaitonde’s love interest (Played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui).
As she was given a bigger role in the first season, it is hoped her past will be further developed throughout season two.
Season one ended with Sartaj discovering Ganesh’s secret underground bunker which was stockpiled with materials and protective gear to withstand a nuclear or chemical attack.
Sartaj also discovered that Ganesh’s third father and the last person to betray him was Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi).
Season two is expected to pick up on these cliffhangers and Ganesh’s past will definitely need to be explored in order to explain the events that will unfold in season two.
Although Kukoo is technically dead, hopefully, Ganesh’s past will secure her return to season two.
