Snoop Dogg covers Peaky Blinders theme tune as show’s creator drops massive hint rapper will star in next series

SNOOP Dogg has recorded a cover of the Peaky Binders theme tune amid rumours the rapper is to star in the next series.

The rap legend even donned a trademark flat cap as he revealed his version of the show’s seminal theme tune, 'Red Right Hand' by Nick Cave.

Snoop also renamed himself 'Snoop Shelby' after Cillian Murphy’s ruthless lead character Tommy.

The cover of the classic track comes after Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight said the rapper wants a cameo in the hit gangster drama.

On the clip Snoop says: "By order of the Peaky Blinders this is Red Right Hand by Snoop…check it out."

The accompanying video features iconic scenes from the hit TV series – which is loved by millions of Brits.

Knight earlier told the Guardian: “We get a lot of people who get in touch and want to take part. There’s Brad Pitt, Snoop Dogg, A$AP Rocky, too.

“I think in series six we will open the door a little to get some celebrity actors in. The main thing is they have to be good.”

Peaky Blinders season five has just finished on BBC1, however the show is expected to return for its sixth series in 2021.
