Spoilers: Billy issues a dark threat to sex abuser Kel in Corrie
Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) has done everything he can in Coronation Street to help Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) after he discovered that Kel (Joseph Alessi) had sexually abused him when he was only 14, and — in the coming episodes — the cobbles’ vicar issues a dark threat to Kel upon his return.
When Kel showed up on the cobbles, Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) were delighted. However, Paul didn’t share in his family’s joy about the returnee and, after doing some investigative work, Billy made a shocking discovery about the reason why.
Paul initially rebuked Billy over what he had to say, but — upon further conversations — he soon came to the realisation that what Billy was saying was accurate: Kel had groomed him when he was a teenager. Afterwards, Billy promised to support the young man in whatever way he could.
After some time away from the cobbles, Kel returns, and Bernie’s adamant to mark the occasions with a family meal. However, Paul makes his thoughts known, and reinforces several times that he won’t be attending.
Later, after a nice meal, Kel kisses Bernie goodnight and proceeds to head off, but as he does so, he comes face-to-face with Billy, who warns him to stay away from No.5 — and especially to stay away from Joseph — or he’ll regret it.
Kel’s stunned by Billy’s words, and he’s left a bit shaken.
