Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Karim Zeroual defeated as Argentine Tango secret revealed?

Karim, 35, and his Strictly Come Dancing professional partner Amy Dowden, 28, have won over the judges and viewers of the BBC dance show since the series commenced back in September. Despite being second on the leaderboard last night, some help with his Argentine Tango performance could put the CBBC presenter in jeopardy of losing the Glitterball Trophy.

The routine was the first the couple danced during last night’s semi-final and they were awarded a total of 36 out of 40 for their efforts.

However, prior to their first stint on the dance floor, Karim revealed a secret source of help he and his dancing partner had.

Former Strictly professional Vincent Simone, 40, had choreographed the number in a brief return to the show.

Back in 2017, he also staged the Argentine Tango routine for singer Alexandra Burke, 31, however, she didn’t go on to win the title. Could this mean the presenter will also be defeated?

  • Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Kelvin Fletcher to miss final?

The former X Factor star was partnered with Gorka Marquez, 29, and managed to make it all the way to the final.

Unfortunately, she was pitted to the top spot by actor Joe McFadden, 44, leaving her in the position of runner-up.

Viewers are yet to discover whether Karim will make it through to next weekend’s Grand Finale, but having had help from Vincent, could he suffer the same fate as Alexandra if he does secure a place?

Speaking in a pre-recorded video, the Italian Ballroom dancer said: “I believe the Argentine Tango is the most beautiful dance in the world.

The hardest Argentine Tango ever performed on Strictly

Vincent Simone

“It’s all about the music and the passion, the connection. It’s a very hard dance,” he continued, going on to add what he had choreographed for the couple was “the hardest Argentine Tango ever performed on Strictly.”

Could this add yet further evidence the children’s television presenter won’t win the Glitterball Trophy due to the complexity of the dance?

Karim’s best performance of the night seemed to be his American Smooth, with the panel awarding him a score of 38 out of 40.

Therefore, his combined total for the night was 74 out of 40, but he was beat to the pole position by former Emmerdale actor, Kelvin Fletcher, 35.

The soap star and his dancing partner Oti Mabuse, 29, managed to trump their nearest competitor by three points with a combined total of 77.

According to latest odds from Coral bookmakers, Kelvin is still storming ahead as the frontrunner to win the series.

At 2-5, it seems the actor is the one to beat, with Karim’s chances of winning sitting at 4-1.

With regards to the elimination tonight, the presenter’s standing to leave is at 8-1.

Another added: “Omg Karim’s Argentine Tango was amazing!! Intense, I think it suits him, he seemed to lead, the timing was wonderful, and it had breath, wowwww #Strictly #scd.”
