Strictly’s Kai Widdrington does ‘perfect’ impression of Rylan on X Factor

Strictly Come Dancing’s Kai Widdrington did a perfect impression of Rylan Clark, and left both It Takes Two viewers and its production team in fits of laughter.

Kai recently debuted his impressive impersonation skills on social media, sparking Janette Manrara to request him to do one of her co-host Rylan Clark.

Janette says to Kai, who was sitting next to dance partner AJ Odudu at the time: “I need to ask you, we have to do it; you’ve impressed everybody with your impressions in that little video that we saw on social media, but one person you missed off is Rylan.

“Can you give us a good Rylan impression?”

Blushing at the request, Kai recruits AJ to help him with the impression as she pretends to be Nicole Scherzinger the iconic moment she told Rylan he’d gotten through to the live shows on the X Factor.

Before doing the impression, Kai says: “This one is a bit of blast from the past, but I think viewers might know this one.”

AJ then proceeds to say that Kai’s made it to her hometown of Blackburn, instead of the X Factor, to which the professional pretends to break down in tears in true Rylan-style.

Dramatically crying, Kai says in an Essex accent: “Are you joking?”

AJ then bursts into laughter along with the rest of the It Takes Two crew as they applauded Kai’s fantastic impersonation.

Viewers of the show also applauded Kai on social media.

One person wrote: “Kai's impression of Rylan deserves a BAFTA #ittakestwo #itt”.

Another person said: “Kai's Rylan impression is perfect. #ItTakesTwo”, with a string of clapping emojis.

“Kai's impression of Rylan's X Factor crying was SPOT ON!! Even the voice sounded just like Rylan!! #ItTakesTwo #Strictly”, a third penned.

Jokes aside, throughout their time on Strictly, fans have convinced themselves thatKai and AJ have become romantically involved something which they’ve been continuously grilled about on It Takes Two.

Rylan asked the pair back in October following a fiery dance they performed: “The passion during this routine set the rumour mill going. Can we settle a few scores here, please?”

Kai replied: “If people react like this it means we're doing something right, because that's the way the dance should be danced.

It was a very passionate song, a real fiery piece and very intimate. And that is the characterisation of Argentine Tango.”
