Strictly’s Oti in tears as Shirley Ballas criticises her and Kelvin’s dance

Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse was left emotional during last night's show.

The Strictly star was in tears after judge Shirley Ballas criticised her routine with dance partner Kelvin Fletcher.

Oti, 29, and former Emmerdale cast member Kelvin, 35, performed a Viennese Waltz to Christina Aguilera and Great Big World's Say Something on the BBC show last night.

The pair got a respectable score of 34 – with some viewers even saying Kelvin had been undermarked.

However, Shirley wasn't the biggest fan of it.

The 59-year-old dance expert told the pair their routine had "too much rise and fall".

She also added: "It looked a little bit stuck, for me."

Shirley was later interrupted by booing from the audience – causing her to snap: "Can I finish?"

The emotion seemed to overwhelm Oti, who ended up in tears.

Host Tess Daly leaned over and asked her: "Are you OK, my dear?"

Fellow Strictly Claudia Winkleman also asked Oti: "What is going on?" as she wiped a tear away from her face.

Oti explained: "Do you know what it is… I think all us professionals we feel that we want them to do so well that we take on their nerves and our nerves."

The other judges were easier on the star though, with Oti's sister Motsi calling their dance "absolutely outstanding".

Even usually acid-tongued Craig Revel Horwood labelled their performance "superb".

Oti and Kelvin finished failed to claim the top spot this week – being beaten by CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual and his dance partner Amy Dowden.

They were awarded an impressive score of 39.

Shirley was back on the show this week, despite only having her breast implants removed on Tuesday.

The star has gone from a DD back to her natural A cup after cancer fears.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One tonight at 7:15pm for the results show.
