Susanna Reid snubs Piers Morgan as she celebrates Good Morning Britain's seven-year anniversary

SUSANNA Reid today snubbed Piers Morgan as she celebrated Good Morning Britain's anniversary.

The 50-year-old launched the rebranded show on this date in 2014, with Piers joining as her permanent co-host a year later.

But he wasn't mentioned as Susanna marked the occasion on-air today.

Susanna joked about her replacement co-presenter Adil Ray's birthday instead.

"We want to say a huge happy birthday this morning to Adil…," she said.

"Well, I was going to say to the programme because we launched on this day back in 2014."

Adil threw his head back laughing as Susanna explained: "But it is of course the third day of your birthday celebrations and I've got you a special present. You've got yourself a pair of crocs."

"They are disgusting things," said Adil, who turned 47 on Monday.

"I hate these things, they're vile. But apparently they're back in fashion."

The pair then continued to front the breakfast telly show which Piers quit on March 10.

His relationship with Susanna became strained after his sudden departure, with Piers admitting her frosty farewell on air hit him hard.

Of Susanna's speech, he said: "Jeez, even my real ex-wife talks more fondly about me than that (and, in fact, did so overnight in a very supportive message)."

He later revealed Susanna was "angry" at him for quitting Good Morning Britain = and punished him with her emotionless monologue.

The 55-year-old journalist said he was bombarded with messages from friends asking if the pair had fallen out after they watched Susanna's short monologue.

Writing in the Mail on Sunday he insisted they hadn't, explaining: "I suspect Susanna's feeling angry and sad at me leaving just when the show's soared to new audience heights, concerned for her own future, fearful of troll abuse for publicly backing me (she's had a repulsive barrel-load of that over the years just for sitting next to me), and general discombobulation at the dramatic turn of events.

"I hope we stay friends because Susanna's a decent person and we've been through a lot together."

Piers – who quit over his comments about Meghan Markle – told how Susanna called him for a "clear the air chat" and said sorry for her cool tone.

She then promised they would go for a celebratory lunch where she would break her two-year alcohol abstinence.

Piers wrote: "She apologised for the tone of her chilly goodbye, which was for all the reasons I suspected, and I apologised for leaving her in the lurch so suddenly.

"It was a good conversation, and we agreed that when the dust settles, we'll have a long lunch to celebrate five extraordinary years."

Good Morning Britain launched on April 28, 2014 after Daybreak was cancelled.

Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway were among the main presenters, with Charlotte Hawkins, Ranvir Singh, and Sean Fletcher appearing as newsreaders.

Piers Morgan became Susanna's official co-presenter from 2015.
