Taylor Swift fans convinced she's taken a swipe at enemy Kanye West with 'clown in the West' lyric

TAYLOR Swift fans are convinced the pop star has taken a swipe at old enemy Kanye West in her album track Peace.

Within hours of secret album Folklore's release Swifties has already pored over each of its 17 tracks.

And many believe the line "But there's robbers to the east, clowns to the west" is a subtle dig at the rapper.

One wrote on Twitter: "Let’s take a moment to talk about how Taylor said: „clowns to the Westin Peace."

Another shared: "I wonder if it’s a coincidence or if she really snapped and called Kanye and his fan clowns#folklore."

A third posted: "But there's robbers to the east, clowns to the west" Is @taylorswift13 still shading Kanye West in peace song? Dang. #Foklore

As a fourth questioned: "Was the “clowns to the west” line in peace a subtle shade?"

Taylor only announced she was releasing Folklore yesterday and fans immediately jumped on the fact Kanye's new album Donda was also slated for release the same day.

Troubled Kanye told fans earlier this week Donda would be released today – but it's yet to appear.

Meanwhile 30-year-old Taylor tweeted yesterday afternoon: "Surprise 🤗

"Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my 8th studio album, folklore; an entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into."

The Bad Blood hitmaker made no mention of her feud with Kanye, but also teased the release of a new music video for a track from the album, titled Cardigan.

She said she adhered to social distancing guidelines when filming the video to avoid the spread of the coronavirus, writing on Instagram: "The music video for “cardigan” will premiere tonight, which I wrote/directed …

"The entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling."

Her bombshell announcement comes amid Kanye's Twitter rampage this week, and just days after he said he would release an album on July 24th named Donda, in honour of his late mom.

Donda West passed away in late November 2007 following cosmetic surgery complications.

The controversial rapper announced the news on his official Twitter page along with the track list before swiftly deleting the post.

He has gone on to make a long-run of controversial comments in recent days, revealing that Kim considered aborting their oldest daughter North, seven.

Kanye and Taylor's bitter feud began at the MTV VMAs in 2009 when he stormed the stage after Taylor had just won Best Female Video

He later called her a "b***h" in his 2016 track Famous, before audio was leaked of a phone call that he claimed proved she knew about the lyric before the song was released.

She has always denied this, and Taylor previously described her feud with Kanye as, “Four years of hell”.

She still wants the rapper to admit she did not give him permission to abuse her in the sexist lyrics.

Sources told The Sun: “Taylor feels that Kanye’s behaviour has been bullying and led to her being bombarded with the most unbelievable abuse.

“She doesn’t want this to keep rumbling on in public, but she does feel hurt that he has claimed she would endorse his misogynistic track and then lie about that.

“And if this latest episode proves that then she’ll be very pleased.

"They all used to be friendly, but it has clearly gone beyond something that can be quietly smoothed over.”
