The Stranger star shares terrifying backstage experience ‘So nerve-wracking!’

Award-winning author Harlan Coben has taken one of his crime thriller novels to the screens. His 2015 novel titled The Stranger has been made into an eight-episode long series and is available on Netflix from today. Cast in the series is as the mysterious ‘stranger’ is none other than Game of Thrones star Hannah Jon-Kamen, but despite being cast in multiple award-winning series and films, there was one part of the process she found rather nerve-wracking.

The Stranger is a mystery thriller that follow the story of family man Adam Price (played by Richard Armitage) after he is approached by a stranger who makes a shocking claim about his wife Corrine Price (Dervla Kirwan).

Adam doesn’t know who this woman is or why she is saying these things, but his world he know soon comes crashing down around him.

The Stranger is played by Hannah Jon-Kamen, who viewers will know from her performances as Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp and her role as Ornela in Game of Thrones.

However, despite having already worked in award-winning films and television shows, she has spoken out on why working on The Stranger was so daunting.

Speaking to and other members of the press, she said: “I’ve done table reads before but this one in particular was the most nerve wracking.

“So many people at it… I always saw when you’re with someone absolutely amazing and incredible it’s ping pong.”

Working alongside Hannah is the likes BAFTA award winning comedian Jennifer Saunders, Richard Armitage, who played Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit and award winning drama actress Siobhan Finneran.

However, she revealed that working with so many high profile actors helped her up her performance.

She added: “It actually inspires you to just play off what you’re with, and such talent and amazing people to work with, it just kind of kicks you up the arse to go ‘God I hope they don’t find out that I’m not good at this’”.

Comedian Jennifer Saunders will also star in the series.

Playing a close friend of police detective Johanna Griffin (Siobhan Finneran), her character also gets her own visit from The Stranger.

Much like Hannah, she also revealed she was a little starstruck on arrival after accepting the role.
