Who is Estelle in EastEnders, who plays her and what else has she been in?

Estelle makes quite the memorable entrance in EastEnders tonight (April 26).

The newcomer runs a talent agency, and she makes her first appearance after Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) instructs Billy (Perry Fenwick) to take their daughter Janet to her first photoshoot.

Billy agrees to do so, and while there, he meets Estelle.

Estelle finds herself rather taken with Billy, and therefore invites him out for drink!

While watching tonight’s episode, you might find yourself questioning just who it is plays Estelle, and what you’ve seen her in before.

If this is the case, then fear not as you’ve come to the right place.

We’ve got all the answers you need!

Who plays Estelle in EastEnders and what else has she been in before?

Actress Sue Holderness portrays Estelle.

Sue is best known for portraying Marlene Boyce in hugely popular sitcom Only Fools and Horses between 1985 and 2003.

She also reprised the role in spin-off series The Green Green Grass.

‘I didn’t then realise that landing the role of Marlene would change my life, the actress said. ‘I was very pleased to be offered the chance to play this wonderful, dotty bird from Peckham, as at this time I was being cast mainly as middle-class or posh women.

‘I thought Marlene would be in just that one episode, where Boycie gave Marlene a dog for Christmas, decided to take her on holiday, and they asked Del and Rodney to look after the dog.’

In addition to Only Fools and Horses, Sue has appeared in a number of long-running dramas over the years, including Casualty, Holby City and Doctors.

Who is Estelle in EastEnders?

As noted earlier, Estelle is Janet’s agent.

She will appear in a number of episodes this week, and will ask Honey for permission to go on a date with Billy!

‘Estelle is certainly very different to Marlene!,’ Sue said, ‘She’s a theatrical agent and most of her clients are children. She’s a good time girl, she’s not that scrupulous about expenses, she loves fine dining and when she meets Billy she quite fancies getting to know this really caring, rough round the edges dad.

‘She’s very intrigued by him and rather ruthlessly chats him up! Billy seems quite keen to play along too.’

EastEnders continues Monday April 26 at 8:05pm on BBC One.
